'the museum is a work of art on its own' (Stefan Heilemann)

Bellevue, NZZ, 2019

(David Streiff Corti)

Art Agenda, 2019

'The museum has softer edges than many: built on the site of a twelfth-century monastery in the Engadin region of Switzerland, with galleries burrowing into the rock, the institutional setting establishes that Kunz’s images can speak on their own terms as art. [...] The exhibitions at Muzeum Susch and in Würenlos make plain that Kunz’s work is significant to more than one audience—and that its spiritual and aesthetic guardians can be uneasy bedfellows. As a committed skeptic, I find Kunz an extraordinary artist thanks to the concerted complexity and wealth of the body of work she created, and the novelty she discovered with very spare means.' (Aoife Rosenmeyer)

Engadiner Post, 2019

(Jon Duschletta)

The Guardian, 2019

'Muzeum Susch is one of the most unusual and evocative spaces for art that has been built in recent years. [...] Combining local vernacular techniques with crisp new additions, the young architects have created a magical place where the historic fabric, contemporary art and raw geology of the landscape collide.' (Oliver Wainwright)

Elephant magazine, 2019

'The Muzeum Susch offers a welcome respite from the distractions of everyday life. While the pressures of the hustle and bustle of the city can make the focus for contemporary art difficult to find, in the Engadin Valley time has an altogether different way of standing still. Interior and exterior blend together freely here, with floor to ceiling windows easing the connection between architecture and nature. [...] The museum presents art as more than just something to be looked at; here, it takes on almost spiritual qualities, endowed with the power of healing. There is a quiet majesty to this place, and there is peace to be found within its centuries-old foundations.' (Louise Benson)

VacationIdea, 2019

'Muzeum Susch is one of Switzerland's most special hidden gems and is certainly worth a visit for anyone interested in history, natural beauty, contemporary art, and the exploration of the relationship between artworks and the spaces in which they are housed.'

Bauwelt, 2019

Tagblatt, 2019

'Visionäres Museum im Engadin zeigt visionäre Kunst Das kleine Muzeum Susch macht international Schlagzeilen.'

Time Magazine, 2019

'World’s Greatest Places 2019’'When Polish entrepreneur Grazyna Kulczyk established an international center for art, she forwent an up-and-coming cosmopolitan locale for a rural village in a Swiss alpine valley. Muzeum Susch inhabits a 12th century monastery and brewery, with gallery spaces burrowed into the mountains behind it. […] The museum will also host a think tank dedicated to analyzing the role of women in the arts and sciences.' (Wilder Davies)

Sonntags Zeitung, 2019

(Ewa Hess)

ZDF, Heute Journal, 2019

'Muzeum Susch: Hochkultur in Hochnatur'

(Marina Fuchs)

The Burlington Magazine, 2019

'This exhibition invites 'a reconsideration of our everyday definitions of art. […] The interpretative context most often brought to bear to Kunz’s work today, and one that has the potency to help reshape art history’s account of Modernism, is that of spiritual abstraction.' (Jennifer Muddy)

Przekrój, 2019

'What about Muzeum Susch? It is easy to buy into the illusion that it is the perfect place to hide away in and enjoy art, far from the hustle and bustle of the world. However, people don’t go to Engadin to escape the art world; Engadin is the art world.' (Stach Szabłowski)

NZZ / Z Magazine, 2019

L’Oficiel, 2019

'A Woman Looking at Men Looking at Women is powerful because it goes beyond the binary, acknowledging tension between “masculine”and “feminine” as just a sliver of the larger social and sexual strata through which it works. It offers no solutions, instead serving as a provocation to ditch our desire for an easy read, so we might soak in the layers of anguish, fear, lust, strength and vulnerability shifting beneath the surface.' (Alice Bucknell)

F.A.Z. Quarterly, 2019

(Kolja Reichert)
