Miyuki Inoue is a visual artist from Japan, based in the Netherlands. She makes performative installations that she is a part of.

She is intrigued by ever-changing process-based expressions. In recent years, especially after graduation from the Master of Voice program at Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, she has been making voice works, which are often site-specific and participatory. In her practice, she tries to unlearn vocal habits that we learn from society and amplify the voice in different ways.

She’s currently working on the Humancicada project, in which people are asked to imitate the voice of insects. Her residency experience includes Nordic Artists’ Centre Dale, Dale i Sunnfjord, Est-Nord-Est, Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, and Inter Arts Center, Malmö. She has received support from the Yoshino Gypsum Art Foundation, the Mondriaan Fund and the Agency for Cultural Affairs in Japan.
