Nicolas Bourriaud

Nicolas Bourriaud is a renowned French curator, art critic and author. Bourriaud co-founded the Palais de Tokyo in Paris where he served as co-director (with Jérôme Sans) from 1999 to 2006. During his time at Palais de Tokyo he also served on the team behind the first and second editions of the Moscow Biennial in 2005 and 2007 respectively, and founded the Pinchuk Art Center in Kyiv. Bourriaud was the Gulbenkian curator of contemporary art from 2007 to 2010 at Tate Britain in London, the Director of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Paris, from 2011 to 2015, and founded MO.CO(Montpellier Contemporain) in 2016, an institution he directed till 2021. As a freelance curator, he was then the artistic director of Gwangju Biennale (2024), '1+1. The relational years', opened at the MaXXi in Rome in november 2025, or ‘Timeline' at Kodl Gallery in Prague.
